1958-1960 production years of this generation
1959 The second generation of the Thunderbird model, produced between 1958 and 1960, is referred to as the "Square Birds". Compared to the first generation, it was quite a bit larger and offered seating for four passengers. A convetible and a hardtop coupe were available. All three model years have double round headlights on the fender corners and a massive bumper surrounding the grill, changed every year. The grill pattern is repeated at the rear, around the rear lamps. The '59 model has the following appearance features: - grill with horizontal slats, - Thunderbird lettering moved from the front fender to the doors, in place of the five decorative grilles in the previous model year, Common features with '58 model: - bird emblem on the hood is small, with short wings arranged in a V, - double round rear lamps,
