Ford Thunderbird 2nd generation 1958-1960 (1960 convetible 2d), detail
1958-1960 production years of this generation
1960 The second generation of the Thunderbird model, produced between 1958 and 1960, is referred to as the "Square Birds". Compared to the first generation, it was quite a bit larger and offered seating for four passengers. A convetible and a hardtop coupe were available. All three model years have double round headlights on the fender corners and a massive bumper surrounding the grill, changed every year. The grill pattern is repeated at the rear, around the rear lamps.
The '60 model has the following appearance features:
- checkered grill,
- new bird emblem on the hood, with long wings arranged almost horizontally,
- Thunderbird lettering on the doors, plus chrome embellishments on the rear fender,
- triple round rear lamps,
