1961-1963 production years of this generation
1963 The third generation of the Thunderbird model, produced between 1961 and 1963, is referred to as the "Bullet Birds". It has similar dimensions to its predecessor. A convetible and a hardtop coupe were available. All three model years have twin round headlights, impressed into a massive bumper surrounding the grill, changed every year. The single round rear lamps are reminiscent of the first generation. The '63 model has the following appearance features: - grill with vertical "whalebone", - Thunderbird lettering moved to the rear fender, three decorative "gills" on the doors, - single round rear lamps have chrome rings and, in addition, "spokes", - Sports Roadster and Landau special models remain in production,
