Remarks: Rectangular turn signals are non-original, in this year there were still mechanical arrows.
In this form it was produced during following years: 1956 End of production of the 401 model and start of production of 411 model. The easiest way to tell them apart is by the grill. Unimog 411 has a mesh grill instead of a checkered grill. 1957 Blinkers replace mechanical arrows, Mercedes star on hood in addition to the one on grill. Introduction of the U 25 model. New Westfalia Type DfV cab model introduced, old Type B is produced in parallel.
