Ford Thunderbird 5th generation 1967-1971 (1968 Ford Thunderbird Landau hardtop Coupé 2d), right side view
1967-1971 production years of this generation
1968 The fifth generation of the Thunderbird model, produced from 1967 to 1971, is referred to as "Glamour Birds". The convetible disappears, only hardtop coupe, landau and four-door sedan were available. The first three model years have a tapered front end and headlights retracted behind the grill.
The '68 model has the following appearance features:
- checkered grill further divided into segments includes retractable headlights, covered by flaps with small emblems,
- side-markers on the sides of the body,
- full-width rear lamp with a chrome strip inside with an emblem instead of the Thunderbird lettering, as the year before,
